BALTIMORE COLLEGETOWN NETWORK ANNOUNCES COLLEGETOWN SHUTTLE SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR FALL 2008 SEMESTER
BALTIMORE – August 19, 2008 - The Baltimore Collegetown Network (BCN) announces several changes to the Fall 2008 Collegetown Shuttle schedule. The shuttle will run from Friday, August 29th to Sunday, December 19th for the Fall 2008 semester. There will be no service on November 26th through November 28th. The Collegetown Shuttle is the cornerstone initiative of the BCN and supports its mission of engaging students in Baltimore.
The changes listed below have been made to meet the needs of students in the area:
• The shuttle will be stopping at Towson Place Shopping Center on Sundays to allow students to shop at big box stores such as Target and Wal-Mart. The new stop is located off Prince Rd.
• The shuttle will be stopping at Towson University 7 days a week as opposed to stopping there only on the weekends.
• The Collegetown Shuttle will no longer to the UMBC Harbor Line on weekends.
• In an effort to better promote this valuable service, BCN is announcing our new slogan for the Collegetown Shuttle: Be Green. Be Mobile. Be More.
• Several time changes have been made to the Red and Blue Lines – please refer to schedule for updates. For specific changes, please download a copy of the schedule from www.BatlimoreCollegetown.org/shuttle.
Stops on the shuttle route include: Goucher College, Towson Town Center, Towson University, Belvedere Square, Loyola College, College of Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins, MICA, Penn Station, Inner Harbor, and Towson Place Shopping Center.
The Baltimore Collegetown Shuttle is a free transportation service available for students, staff, and faculty. The Collegetown Shuttle serves over 72,000 riders on a yearly basis to our six campuses and five social destinations. The service is now nine years old and a national model for how colleges and communities can work together to help area students get engaged in a region.
