EVER SINCE ITS FOUNDING IN 1876, THE JOHNS HOPKINS EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN ABOUT EXPLORATION AND DISCOVERY.
This is a place that attracts students and faculty, eager to pursue new ideas and directions-wherever they might lead. Hopkins students are challenged not just to learn but also to advance learning itself. Today, Hopkins encompasses campuses in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., as well as centers and facilities throughout the region. The flagship Homewood campus enrolls more than 4,900 full-time undergraduates and more than 1,700 full-time graduate students in the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering. Across town at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, nearly 500 School of Nursing undergraduates share a campus with graduate students in nursing, medicine and public health. Hopkins also extends its reach around the world, with international centers in China, Italy and Singapore, among other locations. Johns Hopkins ranks first among U.S. universities in federal research and development funds, affording tremendous opportunities for all kinds of students in all kinds of disciplines.
