Why Christina Likes Her School So Much
"...a variety of different classes"
I have taken a variety of different classes at Loyola but so far my favorites are Italian and a course on Shakespeare. Being a dancer, a very fun course I was able to fit into my schedule was a dance class.
"the countless events that Loyola has to offer"
Socializing with my friends at the countless events that Loyola has to offer such as: concerts, sporting events, Relay For Life, Loyolapalooza, and countless evening activities on campus.
"I am on the Loyola Dance Team"
We dance at all of the home men's and women's basketball games as well as various other events on campus. I am also a member of Operation Smile which is a group that raises money for children in third-world countries that were born with cleft-lip and cleft-palate. And I also work in Admissions as a Tour Guide for prospective students.
"The easy access between colleges makes it very easy to travel between schools."
I have attended football games at Johns Hopkins as well as various other social events there.
Why Christina Likes Going to School in Baltimore
"The amount of opportunities there [are] for students"
I loved the amount of opportunities there were for students in the city and how easy it was to access the city from my college. As well as how easy it was to access each of the neighboring colleges.
"There is always something to do"
Going to school near a big city offers students with totally different experiences than that of a school that is not near a big city. There is always something to do, even if it is as simple as walking around the Inner Harbor on a beautiful afternoon.
"We are never without acitivities"
When I was looking at colleges I knew that I wanted to attend a college that was either in or very close to a major city. Baltimore provides us with so many opportunities, and there is always something to do. From restaurants to shopping and plays to sporting events, we are never without activities.
"Take advantage of the programs your college has that lets you interact with the city"
My freshman year I was fortunate enough to participate in a First-Year Experience class at Loyola that introduced us to many different parts of the city. It was a great introduction to all of the activities Baltimore has to offer.
"There is something for everyone."
I would absolutely recommend coming to school in Baltimore. Baltimore is a great city with so many things to offer. No matter what your preference is, there is something for everyone.
"In 15 minutes I can be at a major league baseball game, a professional football game, a major concert, several museums, and countless cultural events."
Even though Baltimore is on the smaller side when it comes to major cities, it still has so much to offer.
"I have had many wonderful experiences while in Baltimore."
I was able to see the Yankees play at Camden Yards with the tickets being much easier to buy than at home. I was also able to see the play Wicked which quickly became my new favorite play. And I also was able to attend a concert of one of my favorite groups, Rascal Flatts.
