Why Kathy Likes Her School So Much

"The classes that I enjoyed most really helped me sink my teeth into my profession-no pun intended."

 Our first year of dental school was packed with general sciences, which were taught by amazing professors, but hardly had me dreaming about patient care.  I really enjoyed the general and oral pathology courses because those really helped me see the purpose of all the studies was ultimately to help optimize health in my patients.

I participated in the Hispanic Dental Association, Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, Student National Dental Association, Pediatric Clerkship, Maryland Association of Pediatric Dentists, Gorgas, and Gamma Pi Delta.

Why Kathy Likes Going to School in Baltimore

"Baltimore has much to do from bars and lounges, to theatre and museums."

 I knew I would be studying hard in dental school, and so I wanted a city that would provide lots to do when I did finally have down time.  Baltimore has much to do from bars and lounges, to theatre and museums.  Also, Baltimore's proximity to vineyards and other cities has been a lot of fun for a change of scenery too.

"There is always something going on to entertain you and tempt you away from your studies."

I love all the little communities with unique personalities.  The food in Baltimore is amazing and I have really enjoyed eating out in Latin Quarter, Little Italy, and Greek Town to name a few. I would recommend always exploring with a friend-that way you will always feel safe and have some good company to share your great experiences.

"People would be surprised to learn how culturally diverse Baltimore is."

After New York, Baltimore received the most immigrants.

"Enjoying the weather and great company in the beautiful Inner Harbor."

Those days when I could just relax in Baltimore's amazing Inner Harbor were some of the best days I had as a student.
