The Synagogue Speaks
Exhibition opening On the eve of its 50th anniversary, The Jewish Museum of Maryland will open an original multi-media exhibition in the newly-restored Lloyd Street Synagogue. The Synagogue Speaks tells the story of the landmark synagogue and the three immigrant congregations--two Jewish and one Lithuanian Catholic--that occupied it. "The exhibition encourages visitors to look at the Lloyd Street Synagogue not just as an interesting piece of architecture, but as an artifact that reveals the history of the people who worshipped here," explains co-curator Deborah Weiner, Ph.D.
