If you love having an adventure while getting some exercise and taking in some breath-taking views, then the hiking trails around Baltimore are the perfect place for you! Check out some of the highlighted ones below!
- Gunpowder Falls State Park, Hereford Area: 20 miles of blazed woodland trails. The hike is a little more than 5 miles - moderately difficult with several hill climbs.
- Patapsco Valley State Park, McKeldin Area: 5 overlapping yet quite different trails for circuit hikes of 1-5 miles and varying levels of difficulty.
- Susquehanna State Park: 7 hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult and short to long. Enjoy views, wild flowers, and historic sites.
- Gwynn Falls/Leakin Park and Gwynns Fall Trails: Hikes range from 5-10 miles. Historical remains and a variety of trail types. The trail is 13 miiles long but can be done in sections. Go through woodlands, old neighborhoods, and industrial areas.
- Hashawa/ Union Mills: Offers fishing ponds, a historic cabin, raptor cages, and a nature center. Terrain includes hardwood forest, river meadows, fields and farm plots.
