HOT TIPS DETAIL
Can you Create Great Art from Listening to a Concert? Come to Concert Draw and Find Out!
Have you ever caught yourself doodling on the margins of your paper? Have you ever wondered why your drawing looks the way it does? What if what you are hearing is affecting how your scribbles look?
Try sitting at a concert and doodling. What kind of lines do you make in response to what you see and hear? Do those marks you make build to becoming a drawing, or even art? Does the act of drawing enhance your concert-going experience?
Now is your chance to find out!
You are invited to sign up for one of 5 Concert Draws taking place over the next few months as part of the Everyone an Artist? project! (A project from Art on Purpose (www.artonpurpose.org for information).
When you come to a Concert Draw you arrive one hour before the performance begins to learn the history of the project, what to expect, and drawing materials and instructions. While everyone will go to the concert as a group, everyone draws on their own individually. After the concert everyone comes back together to reflect on their experiences and share their drawings. Your drawing might even end up in the Everyone an Artist? Exhibit that will be coming to a college near you in the spring!
Participation in Concert Draws is free and open to all college students but advanced registration is required. You must register 3 days before the concert you wish to attend. Please contact Art on Purpose at 410.243.4750 or eslaughter@artonpurpose.org and tell them your name and contact information, which Concert Draw you want to attend, which College you attend, and how you learned about the opportunity. You will receive an e-mail confirmation about a day or two before the event.
