Sartre said "Hell is other people." But at Mobtown we know that true hell is paying full price. So we're offering a huge discount on tickets to our new production of Sartre's existential masterpiece!

"Wholly uncomfortable and entirely mesmerizing." – Laura Dattaro, City Paper

Many have offered their opinions on what the afterlife might be like for the damned. Sartre presents us with a room and three strangers who might be in the wrong place. It does not take long for each to pick away at the others to reveal their true natures and the method by which they will be tortured for eternity.

Handel was born in what is now Germany and emigrated to England at the age of 25. In this concert, the Choir explores Handel's far-reaching influence in both "homelands." Hear choral works by 20th-century British composers Britten and Walton contrasted with music by 19th-century German composers Mendelssohn, Rheinberger and Brahms.

Organist Timothy Murphy showcases the magnificent and newly renovated 150-year-old organ at St. Ignatius Church with Rheinberger's Organ Sonata No. 4 in A minor, Op. 98. Murphy also joins the Choir for Britten's magical cantata on the theme of innocence, "Rejoice in the Lamb."

Concert playbill includes all texts and translations.

Lecture by the Peabody Conservatory Department of Musicology's Richard Giarusso one hour before the performance.
