What is the Organization's purpose/product/service?
Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake is a non-profit Christian ministry that works with people from all faiths and walks of life to build and renovate decent houses for affordable homeownership throughout Anne Arundel County and the Baltimore metropolitan region.
Describe the interns responsibilities.
1. Generate list of organizations which can pursue recruitment partnerships.u 2. Create a manual with listings of organizations providing services that are needed by current/ prospective/ rejected/ incomplete applicants. 3. Create a manual for homeowners with listings to city agencies, service providers, construction contacts etc. 4. Generate demographic data on homeowners, i.e. create tracking tool and go through files to record and report. 5. Generate referals for grant reward processes and manage data for grant guidelines. 6. Follow up with rejected applicants/ questionnaires and guide them through the re-application process.
Describe the skill sets a successful candidate will have for this position.
This position is very project based and will require applicants that are independent workers comfortable with research and data collection. Applicants should have strong interpersonal and computer skills. Confidentiality and discretion is a must for all applicants interested in a position within Family Services.
