What is the Organization's purpose/product/service?
Baltimore BORN is currently running two pilot programs for 5th grade boys in Baltimore City. These are young boys who have the desire and innate ability to succeed but lack the opportunity, resources and/or the network necessary to realize their full potential.
Describe the interns responsibilities.
• Helping identify appropriate sites within Maryland and Washington, DC for field trips. • Contacting all field trip sites to secure necessary information • Assist in created pre and post field trip lessons pertaining to the trip • Helping prepare for each weekly session • Interacting with students/families during program areas • Assisting BORN Board in curriculum development • Identifying and securing “experts” on various topics that will be covered in weekly meetings • Assisting in securing bus passes for the students and food donations for the weekly meetings and other resources the families or program may need • Gathering research for program evaluation and website resource section
Describe the skill sets a successful candidate will have for this position.
• Ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds, comfortable being nurturing and demanding, appreciation for firm boundaries and ability to challenge students • Professional demeanor • Strong verbal and written communication skills • We strongly encourage male applicants -Team player -ability to work independently

Baltimore BORN was founded by Baltimore Raven Domonique Foxworth. The team that Domonique has assemble is fairly unique. This is a great opportunity to work with a program from the bottom up and be an integral part of the team. Workdays Required: THe pilot programs meets on both Tuesdays and Wedensdays from 4:30-6:30 and one Saturday each month. The intern is not obligated to attend every session, but it would add to the experience for the intern and help BORN more if the intern could attend as many sessions as possible.
