What is the Organization's purpose/product/service?

Internships at the World Trade Center Institute offer unique hands-on experience and unparalleled networking opportunities. As an intern, you will gain insight into the world of international business, learn from industry leaders and get a head-start on your career. All interns are given professional titles and business cards to be used throughout the semester. Some of our best interns go on to full-time positions with many of our clients – some of Maryland's most prestigious institutions.

Describe the interns responsibilities.

Responsibilities include: • Assist the IVP Manager in everyday duties • Prepare professional and cultural programming for visiting foreign delegations • Escorts visiting foreign delegations to meetings with local experts in various fields • Get acquainted with various government and private sector resources in MD • Maintain and update contacts database and website • Perform research projects as needed  Attending WTCI networking events  Other miscellaneous duties in the internship program field, event planning, or office management

Describe the skill sets a successful candidate will have for this position.

Skills Needed: • Interested in working with foreign professionals and learning about foreign cultures and affairs • Good interpersonal skills • Professional communication and attitude • Detail oriented  Ability to multi-task  Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite needed (i.e. word and excel)  Comfortable with working in a small office environment  Command of a foreign language preferred but not required
