Visual Data Systems, based in Columbia, Maryland is a leading supplier of online marketing, website design, technology solutions, education and consultation. Founded in 1993, Visual Data Systems has over 15 years of extensive experience in the vacation rental industry, the not-for-profit sector and e-commerce with clients thoughout North and Central America and the Caribbean. Visual Data Systems offers our clients a variety of products and services including website design, online marketing tools including online survey management, managed email solutions, search engine optimization & marketing, Integration with rental/ property management software and business and technology consultation.

Describe the interns responsibilities.

Join the team at Visual Data Systems and gain experience in search engine optimization, social media marketing, blog management and more. We’re looking for enthusiastic, outgoing and hard-working people who have a passion for the web and are good at interacting and collaborating with all types of people. You will get to work on client projects right from the start. Your role will be split into the areas of your strengths. You will have ability to research new applications/technology related to SEO and Social Media that will further enhance the Online Marketing program. We will provide full training in all aspects of your job. Your role will vary on an almost daily basis but will include: * Social Media * Viral marketing creation * Online Reputation Management * Link building * Keyword research * Writing creative and compelling adverts and headlines

Describe the skill sets a successful candidate will have for this position.

You must: * be a creative thinker with an ability to think outside the box * be self disciplined * have good attention to detail * be computer and Internet savvy * be able to fit in with a team * be able to work with clients worldwide Any of the following would be advantageous but are not necessary: * Examples of your writing abilities - particularly anything quirky, funny or interesting * Experience in either search engine optimization or pay per click management
