Describe the interns responsibilities.

JOB OVERVIEW Russell & Mackenna is looking for an Interior Design Intern who is eager to progress with a growing company. We are currently filling an internship in our Severna Park, MD flagship store. If you enjoy people, interior design and working with color, if you are looking to combine your creative design skills with your sales talent to provide decorating solutions to customers, Russell & Mackenna may be the place for you. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTIBILITIES • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service. • Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and housekeeping. • Assist in tracking monthly sales goals. • Assist in monitoring client’s furniture orders. This may include communication with fabric and upholstery vendors in order to stay on top of projected delivery dates. • Participate in interior and product photo shoots, including room prep and set up, for promotional purposes. • Assist in local marketing strategy planning and implementing (from signage and sidewalk sales to e-blasts and newsletters).

Describe the skill sets a successful candidate will have for this position.

SKILLS • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience with interior design and space planning. • Strong creative, organizational and personal sales skills. • Computer literacy in word processing, specifically Microsoft Excel and space planning design programs. • Strong oral communications skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time with a positive attitude. EDUCATION • Preferably working toward a degree in interior design or other related design field
