Baltimore’s rich and diverse art, music and theatre scenes provide a range of opportunities for artists and arts administrators alike. Among the city’s many major arts institutions are the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Walters Art Museum, the American Visionary Art Museum, the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, the Lyric Opera House, Center Stage and the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center at the Hippodrome Theatre.
Over the past several years, the number of jobs in health, social services, education and research has exploded as international nonprofits like the Anne E. Casey Foundation, the International Youth Foundation and the Open Society Institute have relocated to the Baltimore area.
