What is the Organization's purpose/product/service?
The Better Business Bureau’s purpose is to maintain ethical business operations of companies all around the nation. BBB makes sure companies are doing work with correct licenses, permits, etc. BBB handles claims and make sure companies are responding to individuals' problems and concerns. From there, the bureau rates companies on an alphabetical basis, from A+ through D-.
Describe the intern's responsibilities.
I handled the basic accounting needs as an intern. I would come in daily and record the deposits. The sales team would receive checks, put them through an automated deposit machine then I would record it on the books. I entered daily journal vouchers, transactions, and bank reconciliations. I also participated in BBB’s budgeting process where I would help compare previous year’s budgets and then determine new budgets in the system. Going into the internship, I knew the basics of accounting software and continued to learn more as the weeks went on. My internship reassured me that I want to continue to work towards becoming an account- specifically a CPA.

Why the internship was successful.
Although there were some struggles, I had a rewarding experience as an intern. I liked that I was able to receive credit and gain the experience to show future employers.
During an internship it’s important to ask questions, work hard, and try to get the most of the experience. Working hard will always result in positive outcomes and even if you intern for only a few months, make it worth it!
This Internship Website was made possible by a grant from the Baltimore County Government.
