Curatorial: AAAPI Intern

Internship Responsibilities
The BMA’s Curatorial Department is seeking a Summer Intern in the Arts of Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Pacific Islands to assist with exhibition and label copy research for the BMA’s Year of the Environment (2025). This is an institution-wide initiative that will involve all areas and aspects of the Museum’s work, including exhibitions related to environmental topics.
The Intern will also help to host a professional meeting of American Curators of Asian Art, which will take place at the BMA. The position may also work on other department projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in an accredited Graduate or Undergraduate Program
• Recent graduate from an accredited program (within 5 years)
• PhD candidate
Preferred Skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Event Planning experience
• Writing/Communication skills
• Interest or experience in non-western art/art history is a plus

Selected candidates will be expected to work from June 24-August 16, 2024. Most positions will meet 2-3 days per week. Interns will work 15 hours per week.
