WASHINGTON MONUMENT

Though it's not quite as tall or as immediately recognizable as its Washington, DC, counterpart, we Baltimoreans like to think of this monument as the REAL Washington Monument. It was the first Washington Monument, anyway, and you can still climb this one -- 228 steps up to a nice view of Baltimore. Be sure to swing by it in the winter, when it's especially resplendent in a garland of lights.
