EATS
ELFGENE ETHIOPIAN CAFE
This small cafe is owned and operated almost single-handedly, and this lends to a simple, but fresh and delectable menu selection.
The cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is usually filled with people as their are only about 20 seats in the cafe itself. Certain dishes on the menu are only offered on certain days, and while this could be frustrating, it just proves that the meals you are receiving are being made fresh each day.
Breakfast dishes include omelets and cracked wheat. Lunch and dinner is where this small cafe shines. From Bozena Shiro (stew) and Quanta FitFit, to beef and lamb tibs, Elfgene offers a simple and streamlined menu of Ethiopian classics. A highlight is their half-and-half, where you can choose two half-szed dishes to try.
They also offer delicious fermented bread to start your meal, as well as smoothies and some of the best coffee in town. And with reasonable prices, this is a great place for anyone looking for authentic cuisine on a student's budget.
