FEDERAL HILL

Some of the trendiest eats in town can be found here, including Blue Agave, and Bicycle. The Cross Street Market serves up the freshest seafood in town by day before becoming a popular happy-hour haunt in the early evenings. Later at night, jam bands noodle at the Funk Box while rockers hit the stage at the Royal and DJs spin at the Sky Lounge.

Federal Hill itself is a great place to spread out a blanket and enjoy the breeze and the panoramic view of the Inner Harbor. Just down the street lies Fort McHenry, site of the spectacular battle in the War of 1812 that inspired “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Now a national monument, it's also a paradise for joggers and dog-walkers, and offers some wonderful views of the city. And the American Visionary Art Museum, full of odd and interesting works by odd and interesting outsider artists, is a one-of-a-kind Baltimore treasure.
