NEIGHBORHOODS
FELLS POINT
The neighborhood is such a treasure trove of shopping opportunities that it would be impossible to get into them all, but there's little you can't find here. Stikky Fingers, Trixie's Palace, and Ninth Life sell clothes, accessories and other odds and ends for young hipsters -- think Hot Topic with character. Music lovers sing the praises of the Sound Garden, a homegrown CD superstore. Across the street, shops like the Big Iguana and Su Casa cater to slightly more upscale tastes in clothes and home decorations. Antique shops line Fleet Street and Eastern Avenue.
When it's time to eat, try the Blue Moon Café for the best breakfast in town, Jimmy's for a great down-home greasy-spoon lunch, and Peter's Inn for a very tasty and unusual take on pub grub. The John Steven Ltd. has great seafood if you like it cooked; try Asahi Sushi for outstanding sushi. At Bertha's, you can see what those “Eat Bertha's Mussels” bumperstickers you see around town are all about and, when night falls, check out some of the down-and-dirtiest live blues you'll find anywhere.
Fells Point comes alive again by night as college kids and others flock to the area's countless watering holes. Fletchers hosts live rock music in its upstairs nightclub. The Latin Palace is one of the wildest dance clubs around. And you can't walk half a block without coming to yet another straight-up pub like Max's on Broadway, Lulu's Off Broadway, Kooper's, and many, many more.
