WEST SIDE

Primarily a residential and business district, the West Side is a little less jam-packed with attractions than some other neighborhoods around town. But there's still plenty to do and see here. The Lexington Market, established more than two centuries ago, features an astounding array of bakeries, delis, candy shops, seafood stands, and eateries from all over the world. For a slightly less overwhelming food-shopping experience, try the charming little Trinacria deli. If you'd rather have someone cook for you, there's Maggie Moor's Irish Pub and Restaurant for an Irish twist on some of your old favorites and Martick's for the most unusual French fine-dining experience you'll probably ever have.

As for culture, entertainment and nightlife, the Mechanic Theatre and the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center at the Hippodrome host touring productions of Broadway favorites. Camden Yards and Ravens Stadium are a stone's throw away. And even if you don't actually make it to a game, you can still revel among the O's and Ravens diehards at the many pubs around the parks.
