Much, much more than just a brewpub, the Brewer's Art offers a terrific (if a little pricey) menu of European-style country fare served in the elegant dining room of a converted Mount Vernon rowhouse. It also, of course, serves a mean pint of home-brewed beer -- if you're of legal age and not planning to drive afterward, try the Resurrection -- and its much-less-formal, darkened downstairs bar is a popular chill spot for young scenesters and college kids in the area.
