You enter through a “secret” bookcase entrance, and there's all sorts of Russian spy iconography on the walls, but for the most part, hanging out at the Spy Club is a lot like hanging in someone's really nice house. There are a couple of levels, a DJ spins downbeat ambient, techno, and house groove music, and people -- generally very good-looking people -- chill out either on plush couches or at small tables tucked away into the corners. It's all very smooth and stylish, but without the forced air of self-conscious cool that you find at some other similar places around town. The bartenders are friendly and the prices are reasonable, and though we find the oxygen bar thing a little odd, it's otherwise one of our favorite places to end a night on the town.
