NORTHERN CENTRAL RAILROAD TRAIL
The NCR Trail is a 20-mile paradise for joggers, bikers, and runners. Stretching from Ashland Road in the Hunt Valley area all the way to the state line at Pennsylvania, the 10-foot-wide stone dust trail also offers some access to fishing, and it's wide enough for horseback riding. Home to the Baltimore Road Runners' Club and a favorite of athletes training for the annual Baltimore Marathon in October, the NCR Trail can get somewhat congested in seasonal weather, but even during peak usage you can usually find some space toward its northern end.
There are 8 parking areas along the trail, from Hunt Valley north to the Freeland Road entrance near the Pennsylvania Line. Check the website above for entry points and more detailed information.
