CONTEMPORARY MUSEUM

Dedicated to broadening the audience for contemporary art, the Contemporary Museum does all it can to take its art to the people -- rather than waiting for them to come to it. In addition to the four-or-so exhibitions it hosts in Mount Vernon, the city's cultural district, each year, the Contemporary mounts off-site exhibitions around Baltimore, sponsors programs to identify and support the work of emerging local artists, works with schools and community organizations to introduce contemporary art to people of all ages, and hosts a range of public events.
